About Heritage Senior Center
Our Meals
Meals programs: The York County Area Agency on Aging provides funding to the senior center based on the number of meals given to the members. We encourage members to eat with us and fellowship with other members. The Heritage Senior Center provides nutritious meals to people in the Dover/West York area. This is done by delivering meals to home bound seniors through our Home Delivered Meals Program which promotes their independence by continuing to live in their own homes. For members who are able to drive and utilize transportation, the senior center provides congregate lunches and activities. In March 2020, the senior center had to close for activities due to the pandemic but continued to provide lunch through curb-side-pick-up to members since that time. We are open Monday thru Friday 8:30am - 1:30 pm with To Go lunches available from 10:30 to 11:30 am and dine in/Congregate Lunches served at 11:30 am. Please contact the center for additional information and to sign up. Both lunches are pre-ordered 2 days in advance.
Our Mission
The mission of the Heritage Senior Center is to provide activities to people 60 years of age and older which are designed to overcome loneliness, combat boredom, enhance self-esteem, promote personal growth, and encourage independence through involvement in the community.
Our Future
The Board of Directors of the Heritage Senior Center announced plans to break ground on a new building sometime in 2020. The Board anticipates that the new building will be a great asset to the community, providing many expanded services and valuable programming to the ever increasing “aged 60 and over” residents of Dover and the surrounding area. Please consider donating to our new building fund. We are currently raising funds for Phase 2 of the project.
